In 1972, Larry and Jean Daniel bought 30 acres that was for sale on Ridge Road. The land was overgrown woodland with dilapidated houses and barns on it. They spent two years clearing, designing, grading, building, and hauling gravel to create the first stages of Cozy Acres Campground. They opened the campground to the public on July 4th, 1974. Larry thought it would be an instant success, but boy was he wrong. They spent years upgrading, planting trees, adding amenities, and raising children to create what is now known as the local “Hidden Gem”.
Scott Daniel, their son, is now the general manager of Cozy Acres Campground. He grew up helping his father, Larry, build the campground and has been a part of the daily operations on and off his whole life! He spent 30+ years as a volunteer Firefighter, he served on the local Board of Supervisors, and painted cars for a living. Scott came to work full time in 2003, and has been here ever since! His wealth of knowledge in plumbing, electrical, and just general contracting has benefited this campground immensely.
Cozy Acres Family Campground has gained great joy from providing a place for families to create memories for generation after generation. We take pride in our place, and hope you enjoy it just as much as we do! As you may hear Scott say from time to time, “Come back to see us and don’t forget, take a kid camping!”

Kids caught so many fish and had so much fun. Can’t wait to come back for a longer weekend. We rented a golf cart for 1 day which we really didn’t need to do but the wife and kids loved being able to just drive right up to the general store and get ice cream or more worms or back to the camp site to get any items we wanted quickly. Overall one of the best campsites I’ve stayed in the short time I’ve had my rv.

I had a fantastic experience with Cozy Acres. I have a 21ft pull behind RV and needed a place to stay at the last minute. Cozy Acres was able to get me into a campsite the same day I called. They allowed me to have my dogs on site without breed restrictions. The staff was extremely welcoming and informative during my stay. They even gave me some great advice since I was a first time RV owner. They also do RV storage which I ended up using.

Wow. This place was amazing. Great sites. Level from the moment you pull in. Very clean quiet and peaceful. Staff was amazing. Had a storm come through the last night we were there and I had to asked to borrow a ladder to clean above my slide. Brought it right over to my site within about 5 minutes. Fishing ponds with beautiful views. My whole family had a blast at Karaoke. For sure will be returning in the early spring of 2025.
